Visiting Belgium

Our June vacation, June 2025,
we spent a few days in London
before starting on a 11 day cruise to Iceland.

At Southampton, south of England.
We boarded the cruiseship and explored around.

We were amazed at how big this ship is.
We were on the 15th floor
at the top left Suzanne is waving to us.

A few photos of the ship

Lots of places to relax

Our journey began and to our amazement,
we passing by the Isle of Wight in the
distance, a place of our roots.

The next afternoon we docked at Heist, Belgium
and took a bus to Bruges.

Belgium is one of the smallest and
densely populated European country,
known for it's medieval and
Renaissance architecture.

The main languages of Belgium are
 French, German and Dutch.
English is spoken also.

Lots of canals

We visited the Basilica Of The Precious Blood,
and viewed the Blood of Christ
"The Basilica of the Holy Blood has been designated as a Jubilee Church. This means that those who are unable to make the pilgrimage to Rome can also obtain the plenary indulgence closer to home, which the Roman Catholic Church will grant in the Jubilee Year 2025 primarily to pilgrims who enter the Holy Doors in the four major Basilicas of Rome."

Waffles originated in Belgium and
were first introduced in America in 1952.

A Museum on the way.

We returned to our ship, hungry and tired,
anxious to eat the fantastic food that awaited us.

Good bye Beautiful Belgium, tomorrow Amsterdam.
