Visiting The Reford Gardens, Les Jardins de Métis

Last weekend we were

invited to Metis-Sur-Mer to

 Celebrate the Life of a family

friend who had passed away.

We took the occasion to 

visit this beautiful 

garden in the area.

Métis, a quaint seaside town,

situated on the north 

shore of the Gaspé coast,

South shore of the 

St. Lawrence River.

Reford Gardens

The Blue Himalayan Poppy,

the emblem of the Reford Gardens

was introduced here, by the founder of

the gardens, Elsie Reford. 

Elsie Reford created this garden.

A 200 acre garden, with

trees, babbling brooks, sculptures,

statues, flowers and more.

My sister Annie is recovering from

bunion surgery on a foot.

My daughter, Suzanne joined us.

Our Lodging for the weekend was at

a B&B, a former church Presbytery,

at Baie des Sables, nearby.

Breakfast was served in the sunporch.

 Each day the menu changes.

Waffles with maple syrup.

Shrimp over lettuce, 

with avocado and mango,

delicious

A touch of chocolate…..

It was all so delicious.

Our last evening there,

 We said goodbye to Muriel.

May she rest in peace,

until we meet again.

Her legacy lives on 

in her beautiful family.

On our way home,

We usually stop at a rest area,

by the bridge, for a break.

Traffic was heavy. 

A lot of tourist in the area.

Winter 2024

 Where did the time go.

We are in March. 

We had a mild winter with not a lot 

of snow and only a few storms.

A walk in the woods,

so peaceful in nature.

My sister Annie

and heat up with a nice warm fire in the camp.

I like seeing animal tracks in the 

woods, knowing that life is there,

We visited the beach a few times this winter.

March 8th is 

International Woman's Day

we attended a Gala with a

lovely supper and entertainment.

140 women attended.

About a dozen door prizes

were drawn and my sister

Annie and I each won.

How amazing was that.

My prize was this beautiful

scented homemade soap.

Im sharing some baking

 I did this past few months.
