Lilacs and Lupins

Lilacs and Lupins grace the countryside
each year,  the end of June
here in the Gaspé.

Lilacs smell so nice.

My Lilac tree/shrub must be 50 yrs. old or more.
planted by the previous owner.

Lupins are a common sight in the ditches,
 along the roadside,
at the end of June in the Maritime Provinces
and this area.

In the fall the flowers dry to seed.
There are many seeds on one plant.

Each pod contains a seed.
After drying, they can be used for planting.
I threw seeds in this ditch around 10 yrs. ago.
Lupins reseed each yr.

A peach colored one has appeared this year.
The colors do mix.

Rose bushes in the distance on the right

I picked some Lupins today.

They make a pretty bouquet.
