Soap Box Derby Races

Cascapedia St. Jules, is a small community
on the Gaspe Coast, Quebec, in Eastern Canada,
at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range.
During their October Fall Fest Activities
One of the events is a "Soap Box Derby Race".
I am sharing  some photos
of the "50 Plus" Age Group Race Carts
I don't have pics of all the Carts
A lot of time and effort goes into
 these unique designed homemade carts.
And it's all in the fun
of competing against each other.

My brother, Jimmy on his cart,
Lawrence with the black vest and
Bruce with the orange coat.

A lot of thought and preparation  goes into these races
The 2nd gravel road is used for a service road.

This lovely cart was called "Dishpan Hands"
Great craftsmanship, imagination and skill
goes into the making of these carts,

All lined up, ready to go

Patrickton is the name of a road in the area

The race is on

They are pulled back up the hill by a ATV
These carts have no motor, they run by gravity

Walt Disney World-Florida

My Journal of 6 days at Walt Disney World.
I am a Granny and went with my daughter's family.
4 Theme Parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
Day 1
We arrived at 12:30. After settling into our room, we took the bus to the Magic Kingdom Park.
We were fortunate to arrive on the last day of their Beautiful Christmas Decorations.
The Magic Kingdom was awesome in Changing Christmas Colors.
Went on 4 rides, It's a Small World, Buzz Light Year and Under the Sea.
and Space Mountain.
We watched the beautiful Fireworks before returning home.
Sabrina and Mathieu-My Grandkids

We were fortunate to arrive on the last day of their Christmas Decorations.

As you can see, people of all ages go to Disney World.
I was impressed with the comfortable walking surface and the cleaniness.

A Small World. Very Beautiful. I took many photos,
 only posting a few.
Day 2
After breakfast at our resort, we  took a boat downtown to Disney Downtown Marketplace, a place with shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
There we visited stores, including The Lego Store and had lunch at T-Rex Restaurant.
After lunch we returned to the Magic Kingdom Park. Went on many rides.
My grandaughter and I stuck with the slower pace rides.
We took in the Fireworks,  the Electric Parade  and arrived home at 10:05pm

Day 3
We visited the Epcot Center:
Unfortunately, I lost my photos for this day. I do have a few photos of Epcot on Day 6, we returned there.

Epcot Center moves at a slower pace. Here you can smell the incense in Morocco, listen to the Beatles in the United Kingdom, eat sushi in Japan, and get a pastry in France.
An acronym for “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow,” The Epcot Center is divided into two halves. The modern Future World, with its hard-to-miss iconic geosphere known as Spaceship Earth, explores modern technologies through myriad rides and displays.
The other half is the World Showcase, where you can tour the world in a day by taking an intoxicating toe-dip into the cultures of 11 different countries, featuring Mexico, Norway, China, France, Germany, and Italy.
Epcot also offers plenty of activities that appeal to inquisitive tots. The new Soarin' ride is a winner, and Mission: SPACE is good for getting the adrenaline pumping after one too many educational exhibits.

  • We Went on Space Ship Earth
  • Living The Land
  • Soarin
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends
  • Mission Space

Then we visited the Countrys. Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy America, Japan, Morocco, United Kingdom and Canada

  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Star Tours Adventure, Starwars
  • Saw Pluto
  • Indiana Jones Stunts

Day 5
Animal Kingdom
Welcome to a kingdom of animals... real, ancient and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn."
