There's Beauty Around Us ~ In A Troubled World.

We are living in troubled times right now,
 faced with the Covid-19 virus.
I am a senior and we are the most at risk.
 I'm self isolating, eating healthy,
taking walks in the fresh air,  trying
to maintain a healthy immune system.

Inspite of this virus,
there is an abundance of beauty
 on this earth, always there,
for those of us who appreciate it.

To bring some joy and beauty
 to your weekend,
I'm sharing these photos,

The first photo was taken last July,
on the beach, at the Baie des Chaleur.

These wild flowers grow all over
the region and give a lovely scent.

Wild phlox and primrose.
They reseed themselves and
more will grow next year.

Wild Roses
Duchess of Portland Roses.
Flower during the month of July.

For more on these beautiful, heirloom,
scented roses, check out my previous blog,
The Roses of Gaspé, click here.

The colours of Autumn
from our deciduous trees.

Berry trees.
food for wildlife and making preserves.

Below are Rowan Trees or Mountain Ash
beautiful year around.

Take care of yourselves,
 wash your hands,
practice social distancing,
and take time to think about
all the beauty God has blessed
 us with in our world.
Stay healthy and safe.

Thanks for your visit xo.

  1. There is so much wonder in your glorious part of the world, Thelma. These are unprecedented times we are facing at the moment. All we can do really is to be sensible with our health, be mindful of contact with people and adopt good and safe practices with hand washing hygiene, etc. A practice, I might add, which we should be practising anyway. There is a lot of unwarranted hysteria. It seems to me you are doing all the right things. Take care, lovely lady.

  3. Thank you, Thelma, for your lovely photos. You're so right, we need to focus on the beauty around us and try to keep our spirits up. The Island has gone a bit mad the past few days since we now have a case of the virus here. I too am at high risk because of my medical condition. I have been ill for a week now and haven't left the house since last Sunday. Cold and flu, but enough to make me miserable. I so appreciate you sharing your beautiful photos today. Do take care! Blessings and hugs, Sandi

    1. Hi Sandy, I hear on the news today that there is one case in PEI. The government is doing their best to control the spreading. Although not everyone is taking this seriously and following their advice.
I had a bad cold the end of Feb. and had to postpone my cataract surgery. I did have it on the 10th of March. Thankfully I have no problem with my eye.
      Take care. xo

  6. Thanks, Thelma, for your up-lifting photos and commentary. I have never seen or heard of a Rowan tree before but they are sure beautiful. My favorite photo is the one of the Rowan berries covered in snow. They are such a vivid red against the white. Beautiful. Thanks again for sending us some of the world's beauty. Be well.

  7. Thanks for your visit Naomi. The Rowan tree, or Mountain Ash tree is native to our colder Northern climate of Canada. They are a favourite of mine and grow wild in the forests here. Over the years, I have transplanted some in my garden. In the Winter, the berries are food for the birds. I have used the berries to decorate door wreaths outside.
    Keep well. xo
