St. Patrick's Day Parade ~ 2022

After two long covid years,
a large crowd lined the
 streets in Richmond, Quebec,
in the Eastern Townships,
south of Montreal, for
 their St. Patricks Parade.

Richmond has long been
renowned across the province
 for its annual celebrations of
 Irish heritage and culture.

Despite rain in the forecast,
it held off for the parade,
"the luck of the Irish"

Lots of horses, and horse teams.

 Farm Tractors

and Lawn Tractors.
This tractor put on a show.
with smoke and flames.

Irish Wolfhound dogs

A large gentle dog.

Police on horseback,  were on guard also,

All terrain vehicles

Many decorated floats from
 community organizations
 and businesses.

I didn't take a lot of photos.
There were a lot of many
other things to see,
like Scottish Pipers
and Pipe Bands.
To view some short videos
of 3 pipe bands, visit

My photos were taken on a
 quite street, Craig St., near
 the starting of the parade.

The next photo, (not my photo),
was taken on Main Street where
 most of the crowd gathered.

It felt great to have some
 normalcy in our lives again.
Lets hope that the virus count stays
low, as most of the restrictions
are being lifted.

  1. Fabulous you were able to celebrate St Patrick's Day with a large parade. Let us hope you can continue to do so. Love those Irish Wolfhounds.

    1. Thanks Kim. Even though the parade was smaller this year, it was great to have it;

  3. In spite of having lived in Ireland for many years (we arrived there on St. Patrick's Day) we've never seen a St. Patrick's Day Parade. Nice photos.

  5. Thelma, it is so nice to see that we can start getting back to some type of normal. Those little parades are always so much fun. I always love seeing the animals. Our counts here in town have started going back up. Hopefully it won't be to much but it is disheartening to see it..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy

  6. Thanks Judy. They are talking about a 6th Wave. We don't need any more waves. We only need ocean waves. LOL. Take it each day as it comes. Happy Spring xo

  7. Thelma, how wonderful to have a parade and be able to go and enjoy it! Very exciting when one has been cooped up for two years! Little by little, we are getting our freedom back. Even so, because I am immunocompromised, I will probably wear a mask long after they lift that restriction here. So nice to have you visit! Happy Spring, my friend! Hugs to you.
